Home Teeth Whitening: Three Different Types
There are two ways of having effective teeth whitening performed and they are Dental or home teeth whitening. Both have different advantages and disadvantages. Home teeth whitening is cheap and easy, whereas dental teeth whitening is extremely powerful and can make a huge difference in the color of your teeth. Home teeth whitening has taken a huge chunk out
of the teeth whitening market and there are millions of dollars being
spent in advertising the benefits of home teeth whitening – and rightly
so. Till a few years ago, it was considered as being quite complex to get
one’s teeth whitened and, it was pretty tough to get mouthpieces fitted
in the mouth of a patient to obtain desired results. This almost precluded
home teeth whitening as a viable option, but things have changed and, now
there are three different kinds of home teeth whitening available. They
are brush-on whitening, strips that can be stuck in the teeth or trays
with bleaching gels. Brush-on whitening is theoretically a wonderful idea
that requires brushing on the formula and allowing it dry on the teeth as
well as remain overnight on the teeth. But, brush-on whitening is really
for those who are looking for a shortcut and, actually suffers from two
flaws, namely it relies on the formula drying on the teeth and, the
quality of the ingredients may not be up to par. Many Alternatives to Choose From The other alternative is to use strips on the teeth and,
one may be attracted to this home teeth whitening method because of the
simplicity of use. One may easily apply them straight away as there is no
need for any preparations. However, the strips may not work too well in
the case of the patient’s teeth not being completely flat and so, may
only superficially whiten the teeth without getting into the deeper
grooves, which is mainly where the problem exists. It may look like one
has small gaps between teeth and, are certainly not desirable results. Perhaps the best bet is to use trays with bleaching gels
since most gels that are available are pretty much the same and, are also
available at retail stores. One should take care to use gels with
concentrations of no less than 21 percent and the outcomes would be
evident in the short term. In addition, these gels contain carrying agents
that help to draw out water from the enamel and thus speed up the
bleaching process. A best home teeth whitening system would certainly be
one that uses a malleable tray system that have mouthpieces that can be
prepared to fit into the patient's mouth. All said and done, the home
teeth whitening system may take a few days to obtain outcomes, but it
should make for a significantly improved and whiter smile.
